The Paramedic is responsible for receiving calls from dispatch, providing pre-
hospital care to include the support, instruction, care and treatment from the
moment the request for emergency care is initiated until the patient's care is
transferred to the receiving health care provider. Administers basic or
advanced life support to sick and injured persons in a pre-hospital setting
according to acceptable medical standards of practice.
Minimum Education Requirement : High School/GED diploma.
Minimum Experience Requirement : Ability to read, write and understand written instruction, and receive/transmit information. Minimal typing experience required; experience in computers preferred. Ability to work effectively in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
Minimum License Requirement : State certification as EMT-P. Current CPR certification. Has EVOC certification. Certificate in HAZMAT operations or will obtain within six months of hire date. Current driver's license.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions
Heavy Work: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs with a maximum lifting of 100 lbs.
