The physical assessment will take place immediately following the written test for those who successfully pass the exam.
Minimum Qualifications to test
Minimum Age is 19, Maximum Age is 35 and must be a United States Citizen
Graduation from an accredited high school OR possession of an equivalency certificate
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
AND THE FOLLOWING by Job Offer Date
Certification as a Paramedic, as issued by the Texas Department of State Health Services or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians
Certification as a Basic Firefighter, as issued by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection with a current Texas or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Certification
The purpose of this position is to provide fire suppression, rescue and emergency services. This is accomplished by responding to calls for service; providing emergency medical care; responding to hazardous materials scenes; completing firefighting and rescue activities; assisting with fire investigations; providing public education; and conducting pre-fire planning and safety surveys. Other duties include maintaining equipment and fire stations; conducting tours; inspecting fire hydrants; and inspecting equipment.
