High School diploma or GED equivalent.
One year (2,000 work hours or more) of paid or volunteer experience in the position of Paramedic.
Other experience may be considered as follows:
One year of experience as an EMT with the City of Rialto Fire Department. OR
Two years of membership in good standing with the City of Rialto Fire Explorer program. OR
One year as an active reserve firefighter with the Rialto Fire Department. OR
Successful completion of the paramedic field internship with the Rialto Fire Department. OR
One year experience as an EMT along with successful completion of paramedic field internship within the ICEMA or REMSA region.
Licenses and Certifications:
Possession of a valid State of California driver's license with Ambulance Driver Certification.
A valid State of California Paramedic license.
Current accreditation as a Paramedic in the Inland Counties Emergency Medical Agency (ICEMA) region, or must obtain by time of appointment.
Must obtain California State Certified Hazardous Materials First Responder Awareness level training within the first year of employment.
