Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in fire
engineering, fire protection, fire science, emergency management or closely
Advanced degree in fire administration management desirable.
Five years of progressively responsible experience in fire and building code enforcement, fire prevention, inspection, investigation, and public contact.
Municipal government and supervisory experience is highly desirable.
Licenses and Certificates:
Possess and maintain a valid State of California driver license.
Possession of PC 832 certification (CA Penal Code) within one year of appointment.
Possession of Plans Examiner certification (CSFT) Office of State Fire Marshal.
Possession of Fire Safety Officer certification (CSFT) Office of State Fire Marshal.
Uniform Fire Code Inspector certification (administered by International Code Council (ICC) or recognized state, national, or international association acceptable).
